Aerius syrup is effective in children with Allergic Rhinitis.1
 

Desloratadine exposure in children appears to be similar to that observed in adults, in whom efficacy has been established.2

TOLERABILITY

No severe or serious adverse events occurred and no clinically relevant changes were noted in median clinical laboratory test values or mean vital signs.1

DOSING

Aerius is taken with or without food.1,2

- Unlike fexofenadine, the bioavailability of Aerius is not influenced by grapefruit juice.

- The rate and extent of absorption of fexofenadine were reduced by 30% by the consumption of grapefruit juice.3

- Grapefruit juice has no effect on the disposition of desloratadine.1-3


Dosage:4

Children aged 1 to 5 years: 2.5 ml once daily.

Children aged 6 to 11 years: 5 ml once daily.
